ตามด้วยคำ adjective หรือ v.+ing (ซึ่งอาจอยู่หลังคำนามอีกที)

We cuddled with each other to keep warm.  เรากอดกันไว้เพื่อให้อบอุ่น

Keep the light on.  เปิดไฟทิ้งไว้นะ

Turn on the light and keep it on.  เปิดไฟแล้วก็ทิ้งไว้แหละ

Keep the door open. / Keep the door shut.  เปิดประตูทิ้งไว้ / ปิดประตูไว้นะ

Keep your mouth shut.  หุบปากไว้นะ

Keep the computer on.  เปิดเครื่องคอมทิ้งไว้

Keep off the grass.  อยู่ห่างๆสนามหญ้า (ห้ามเดินบนสนามหญ้า)

Keep your hands off me.  อย่ามาแตะต้องฉันนะ

I kept my coat on because it was cold.  ฉันสวมเสื้อหนาวเอาไว้เพราะมันหนาว

I don’t want to keep you waiting.  ฉันไม่ต้องการให้คุณรอฉันนาน

Why did you keep me waiting?  ทำไมถึงปล่อยให้ฉันรอล่ะ

Keep moving forward.  เคลื่อนไปข้างหน้าเรื่อยๆ
