Having been in Thailand for 8 years now, I’ve noticed a several cultural differences.
Today I’d like to share some of them.
Americans use of their feet to do stuff such as open doors or turn on fans.
Thais would never use their feet to do these things.
Thais crouch down as they walk past others.
Americans just walk past.
Thais never put books on the ground.
Americans put books on the ground without thinking much of it.
Americans hug their friends even if it’s someone of the opposite sex.
Thais usually don’t hug their friends.
Thais order food for everybody to share together.
Americans typically order for just themselves.
Thais always take off their shoes before going inside.
Americans only take off their shoes when they are told to do so.
Americans tip servers and taxi drivers.
Thais typically don’t tip.
